Since its foundation in 1998, Christian College of Engineering and Technology (CCET), Bhilai has been a hub of advanced scientific education, with a Hands on approach in creating a curriculum which seamlessly blends theoretical learning with practical training. To uphold these high standards, CCET provides a plethora of training and information sharing platforms like Scientific Journals, National Conferences, Workshops, Guest Lectures, Vocational Training Programs and Industrial Tours. The Central Robotics Laboratory of CCET in association with CCET’s Coordination Cell of Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology (CGCOST), Raipur organized a one day National Workshop on ‘HANDS-ON ROBOTICS’. The whole program was sponsored by Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology (CGCOST), Raipur. The aim of this workshop was to motivate the young technocrats in the field of robot designing and manufacturing.
The One day National Workshop was inaugurated by the Principal of CCET, Dr Dipali Soren in the presence of Dr R Chandrasekaran, HOD of Mechanical Engineering Dept., Dr Shruti Bhargava, HOD of ET&T Dept., Dr Sandhya Pillai, Head of CCET’s Coordination Cell of CGCOST, Dr Dilip Das, First Year In-charge, Dr Rajeshwar Singh, Mr Joji Thomas, Senior faculties, Technical staff and participants. This workshop comprised of two sessions each held in the D Block of CCET. In the first session Mr R K Rathore, Asst Prof, Mechanical Dept. imparted the basic knowledge of Robots to the participants. He discussed the various laws and guidelines established for robot development by Japan, Britain and USA. The Second session conducted by Mr Abid Khan, Assistant Professor, ET&T Dept. and Mr Neju K Prince, Senior Technical Assistant, ET&T Dept. This session was dedicated to embedded systems. The participants learned hands on skill of robotic design and manufacturing by a live demonstration, design and development of a path finder Robot. This session also touched the eternally inquisitive topic of the future of robots. The Executive Vice Chairman of CCET, Fr Jose K Varghese congratulated the coordinators of Central Robotics Lab for successful completion of this one day National Workshop and he extended his well wishes to the participants of this program.
Christian College of Engineering & Technology (CCET), Bhilai was established in the year 1998 by the St. Thomas Mission, Bhilai. It is one of the educational institutions run under the aegis of St. Thomas Mission of Bhilai, founded great visionary and pioneer, Late Lamented H.G. Bishop Dr. Stephanos Mar Theodosius. CCET is celebrating its 18 years of excellence with annual college day celebration ‘SYMPHONIA–2016’ from 15 March, 2016 to 16 March, 2016. This year the spectrum of celebration is broadened by participation of students from various engineering colleges of Chhattisgarh in Intercollege events such as Robotics (Robo Race, Robo Soccer, Pick & Place, Jungle War), Literary (Floor Crossing, Debate Competition, Explore your Entrepreneurship), Cyberzone (Counter Strike, Top Coder, NFS, Urban Reign), War of bands, Intercollege Sports (Volley Ball, Hand Ball, Tug of War, Adventurous Task, Table Tennis) on 15th and 16th March, 2016. The main celebrations to be held on 16th March, 2016 will be presided by the Chairman of CCET, H G Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius in the presence of the Executive Vice Chairman OF CCET, Fr Jose k Varghese, the Principal, Dr Dipali Soren, various dignitaries, faculties of all departments and students. On 16th March, 2016 various cultural programs will be performed by students to celebrate the annual college day.
Christian College of Engineering and Technology (CCET), Bhilai has led the light of knowledge and illuminated the path of success for young technocrats since 1998. CCET has been a center for advanced learning in the field of science and technology with an emphasis on overall personal growth. For stimulating and inspiring young minds to better adapt to the demands and challenges of everyday life, a motivational lecture on Life Skill was organized at CCET campus on 18 February, 2016. The former Captain of Indian National team, Mr Krishnamachari Srikkanth was the special guest and speaker of this program.
The function was presided by the Executive Vice Chairman of CCET, Fr Jose K Varghese in the presence of eminent personality Mr. K Srikkanth together with the Principal of CCET, Dr. Dipali Soren, Education Officer of MGM Group of Institutions, Fr Joshi Varghese, the Bursar, Fr Aju K Varghese, Vice President of Encyclopedia Britannica, Mr. Ved Prakash, HODs of various departments, faculty members and students. On this occasion the legendary batsman, motivational speaker and proficient writer, Mr K Srikkanth unveiled a series of books named “Steps of Life: Value education & Life Skills” to impart age appropriate value education and understanding of life skill for school students.
In his Presidential address, Fr Jose K Varghese welcomed Mr Krishnamachari Srikkanth and expressed his gratitude for the presence of former Captain of Indian team despite hardship and short schedule. He appreciated the first visit of Mr K Srikkanth to the Steel City Bhilai, in spite of his busy schedule. He asked the gathering to diligently absorb and incorporate the words of the former chairman of selection committee of BCCI, as it is the fruit of his accumulated life experience. Mr Krishnamachari Srikkanth motivated and encouraged the young and budding engineers of CCET by ingeniously integrating his life experience and expertise as a cricketer, Chairman of selection committee and an electrical engineer into an awe inspiring speech. He emphasized the role of positive energy, attitude, innovation, discipline, adaptability and self-belief in achieving ones dreams. He urged the younger generation to curtail their ego and to setup goals that are on par with greatest achievers of our time. He said that to go beyond ones aspirations and succeed in present competition, one must be willing to observe and learn from others. He advised the new generation to accept criticism and restrain the fear of failure, without which any invention and innovation is impossible. He shared the life experiences of sports persons and imminent personalities like Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, Sania Mirza and Steve Jobs to stimulate the hidden potential within a student.
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by the Principal of CCET, Dr Dipali Soren. She expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of CCET family for an exceedingly fruitful session by Mr K Srikkanth. She said that such words of wisdom by him had empowered the students and faculties alike to tide over the challenges posed by life. Mrs Dhanya Vineesh, Assistant Professor, ET&T Dept. was the anchor of this event.
All students of B.E. applied for scholarship 2015-2016 are here by informed to submit the Adhaar Card Copy to the administrative office on or before 20th February 2016.

Energy Conservation is The Need of The Hour: Dr M K Verma
Two day National Conference “Technologia-2016” was inaugurated in the auditorium of the Christian College of Engineering & Technology (CCET), Bhilai at 10:30 am on 10th February, 2016. Dr M K Verma, Vice Chancellor, C.S.V.T.U., Bhilai graced the inaugural function as the chief guest along with the Chief patron of this national conference, H G Bishop Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius, Chairman, CCET, Bhilai, together with an eminent personality, Dr Shailendra Kumar Shukla, CEO, CREDA. The National conference was inaugurated by lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest in the presence of the Chairman of CCET, H G Bishop Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius together with Fr Jose K Varghese, Executive Vice Chairman, CCET, Fr. Aju K. Varghese, Bursar, CCET, Dr Dipali Soren, Principal, CCET, Dr Anuprita Mishra, TIT Group, Bhopal, Dr D K Mishra, CIMT, Bhilai along with the HODs of different engineering departments of CCET, faculty members, participants and students. On this occasion the National Journal of Science and Engineering Education (JSEE) together with “Proceedings of Technologia 2016” were unveiled.
The Principal of CCET, Dr Dipali Soren in her welcome speech gave a brief about the history of the college and highlighted its vision and mission. She greeted the gathering and invited them to share their ideas and views on clean and affordable energy. She said that since 2002, Technologia has provided a unique platform to all the researchers and academicians, which has helped immensely to counter technological and social problems. She informed that out of the received 152 papers, 76 were selected and 52 were shortlisted for presentation. The Chairman of CCET, H G Bishop Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius in his presidential address enlightened the gathering about importance of balance between energy utilization and energy conservation. He said that in order to cut global carbon emission for the sake of our environment, we need to increase our dependence on renewable sources of energy, namely hydrogen and radiation based energy technologies. He highlighted the importance of such conferences based on modern energy technologies to tackle future energy crisis and environmental ill effects. He also appreciated the academic and humanitarian works of the Chief Guest, Dr M K Verma.
The Chief Guest of Technologia 2016, Dr M K Verma, Vice Chancellor, CSVTU, Bhilai congratulated CCET management and faculty members for organizing Technologia 2016. In his address he mentioned that this national Conference will show a new direction to the researchers working for pollution free and affordable energy systems. He said that both physical and meta-physical forms of energies are pure and non-aligned; rather their use is negative or positive. He pointed out that shortage of energy is caused by exponential increase in its consumption due to unrestrained population growth. He said that nanotechnology is contributing extensively in the development of new materials which are used to make better structures to create affordable clean energy technologies. He praised CCET for starting a post graduate course in Nanotechnology. The coordinator of R & D Cell of CCET, Dr Sandhya Pillai in her address appreciated and valued the contribution of Chhattisgarh Council of Science and Technology, Raipur for their consistent and constant support. Before the official release of CCET National research Journal named Journal of Science and Engineering Education (JSEE) having (ISSN-2455-5061, online), she said that it is aimed to encourage research and global exchange of knowledge in ever advancing fields of science.
The keynote speech for the first session was given by Dr Anuprita Mishra, TIT Group, Bhopal on the topic Energy Conservation. In the second session, Mrs Bonya Mukherjee, AGM, Energy Management Dept., BSP, Bhilai gave her keynote speech on Energy Management. In both these sessions various papers were presented by the participants on a plethora of topics like solar wind power, fuel cell, hydroelectric energy, nanomaterial synthesis, genetic algorithm for optimal power flow etc. The vote of thanks was given by the HOD of ET&T Dept. and the convener of Technologia 2016, Dr Shruti Bhargava. Fr Jose k Varghese, EVC, CCET extended his well wishes and blessings to the participants.
The 14th National Conference of Christian College of Engineering & Technology (CCET), Bhilai known as Technologia 2016 concluded on 11th February, 2016. Technologia 2016 was organized in association with Chhattisgarh Council of Science & Technology (CGCOST), Raipur. The title of Technologia 2016 was “Future Clean and Sustainable Energy Technologies” and its aim was to provide a common platform for the Academicians, Researchers, Professional Engineers and young technocrats to discuss about the recent trends and the impact of new and advanced green technologies on society. In the morning session, the Keynote Speaker, Dr B K Mohanty, JUET, Guna shared his views on Embedded Systems Design Issues and Strategies. Dr N H Kela, Ex-Prof, CSIT, Durg in his key note speech educated the gathering about income and employment generated by Solar Energy. The participants presented their research papers in a wide variety of topics like Wind Turbine Design, Nanotechnology, Chip fabrication, water treatment, biomedical instrumentation, cold fusion, fuzzy logic, robotics etc.
The Valedictory function of Technologia 2016 was held at the college auditorium. The function was presided by the Chairman of CCET, H G Bishop Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius in the presence of Fr Jose K Varghese, Executive Vice Chairman, CCET, Fr. Aju K. Varghese, Bursar, CCET, Dr Dipali Soren, Principal, CCET, Dr B K Mohanty, JUET, Guna, Prof N h Kela, Ex-Prof, CSIT, Durg, Mr B Shridhar, Co-convener, Technologia-2016, along with the HODs of different engineering departments, faculty members, participants and students. The Chief patron of Technologia-2016, Bishop Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius in his presidential address expressed his joy and congratulated the whole team of Technologia 2016 for the grand success. He asked the participants to continue their research and apply them in the field of social welfare and nation buiding.
The Convener of Technologia-2016, Dr Shruti Bhargava gave a brief about various activities of this two day National Conference. She said that 30 research papers were selected for CCET National research Journal named Journal of Science and Engineering Education (JSEE) having (ISSN-2455-5061, online). Mr R K Rathore, Co convener of Technologia-2016, proposed the Vote of thanks. The anchors of this event were Mrs Snehlata Mandal, Assistant Professor, CSE Dept and Mrs Dhanya Vineesh, Assistant Professor, ET&T Dept. Technologia-2016 concluded with the National Anthem.
