Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU), Bhilai is organizing youth festival – 2016 in which different sports & cultural events are being conducted at different engineering colleges across Chhattisgarh state. The students of Christian College of Engineering & Technology (CCET), Bhilai as in the previous year continued to maintain their lead over the other engineering colleges of the state for their outstanding performance in winning many sports, cultural and technical events that were held. Christian college has yet again shown that it excels in academics, sports and cultural activities by acting as an incubator to nurture talents across a large spectrum. As a result of this exceptional academic environment along with state of art infrastructure facilities, the students of Christian college have written their own ticket in life.
Yet again history repeated itself in Intercollege sports competitions organized by CSVTU, as Christian college guided by its Sports Officer, Mr Piyush Sharma maintained the pole position in both girls and boys handball competition spearheaded by Neha Ojha (7th SEM, CSE) and Nikhil Das (7th SEM, Mechanical). The first prize in girl’s category of Intercollege chess competition was won by A Mohini Devi (7th SEM, ET&T) and second prize was bagged by Abhilasha Rai (7th SEM, CSE). Akansha Sadhu (7th SEM, Electrical), Neha Ware (7th SEM, Electrical), Athira Nair (7th SEM, ET&T) and D Veena (7th SEM, Mechanical) were runner up in girl’s category of Intercollege Badminton Competition. Honey Choudhary (3rd SEM, CSE), Robin K F (7th SEM, Mechanical), Chiranjeevi Agrawal (3rd SEM, Mechanical), Avit Xalxo (7th SEM, Mechanical) and Pranay Singh (7th SEM, Mechanical) were runnerup in Table Tennis Tournament.
In Intercollege Cultural events of CSVTU, Disha Bhattacharjee (1st SEM, CSE) and Joshua John (7th SEM, Mechanical) bagged first prize in debate competition in English language. In debate hindi Sarita Tandon (7th SEM, Electrical) won the second prize. Disha Bhattacharjee (1st SEM, CSE) took the pole position in Intercollege Essay Competition (English) followed by second prize winner Vandana Rathore (7th SEM, Electrical). In the Intercollege Technical Competitions students of Christian college proved their mettle by winning first prize in the Model Making Competition. “Smart home automation” made & presented by Joys Rohit Kispotta (5th semester CSE), Gaurav Rekhawar (5th semester CSE), Ayush Manasseh Nand (5th semester Electrical Engg) was selected as the best Model amongst all the models presented by various engineering colleges.
The Executive Vice Chairman of CCET, Fr Jose K Varghese together with the Principal, Dr Dipali Soren have extended their warm wishes and congratulated all the students for their outstanding performance in the CSVTU Youth Festival-2016. The CCET family is hoping for more success in CSVTU Youth Festival-2016 as few more competitions are yet to be held.
