The 16th edition of the annual national conference, ‘TECHNOLOGIA-2018’

INNOVATION FOR BALANCE AND SUSTAINABLE GROWTH: Dr M K VERMA

On 8th of March, 2018, Christian College of Engineering and Technology (CCET), Kailashnagar, Bhilai in collaboration with Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU), Bhilai, organized the 16th edition of its annual National Conference on “Innovative Trends in Science & Technology (NCITST -2018)”, popularly known as TECHNOLOGIA-2018 in association with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay Spoken tutorial program and sponsored by the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP-III) of CSVTU. The inauguration ceremony started with lighting of lamp by the Chief Guest, Dr M K Verma, Vice-Chancellor of CSVTU, Bhilai in the presence of H G Bishop Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius, Chairman of CCET and Metropolitan of Calcutta Diocese, Fr Jose K Varghese, EVC, Fr Aju K Varghese, Bursar, Dr Dipali Soren, Principal, Prof A D Patil, Coordinator of TEQIP-III, Dr Ashish Patel, Project Officer, TEQIP-III and present dignitaries. The Key-Note Speakers of NCITST-2018 are Dr S S Mahapatra, Professor, Mechanical Engineering Department, NIT, Rourkela, Dr. S. R. Sathe, Professor, Computer Science & Engineering Department, VNIT Nagpur and Dr Nameeta Brahme, HOD School of Studies in Physics & Astro Physics PTRSU Raipur. In her welcome speech, the Principal of CCET, Dr Dipali Soren invited the gathering to share their innovative ideas for tackling present and future challenges. She said that Technologia-2018, adds yet another feather to the illustrious cap of CCET. Dr Sitendra Tamrakar, Convener and HOD, CSE Dept, reported that out of 173 research papers from Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, 69 papers were selected for presentation. The Executive Vice Chairman, Fr Jose K Varghese urged the gathering to cultivate scientific temperament. While applauding opportunities provided by the Indian Govt., he said that endeavors like Technologia-18 have become a boon for growth of Chhattisgarh. In his Presidential address the Chairman, H G Bishop Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius commended CCET for organizing such events of knowledge exchange. He said that where there is sharing there is growth. He motivated the gathering to cultivate original thoughts for unique innovations. The Chief Guest, Prof Dr M K Verma said that the onus is on the present generation to negate the shortfalls of previous one for creating a balanced and sustainable growth model for humanity, because our very existence is at stake. He emphasized that value education should be inculcated in academia to derive a path for co-existence of human beings.

Dr Mina Mishra, Co-convener and HOD of ET&T dept asked the dignitaries to release 16th edition of Technologia proceedings. On this occasion the 3rd edition of CCET Journal of Science & Engineering Education (JSEE) was released by Dr M K Verma in the presence of all the dignitaries. Dr Sandhya Pillai, Coordinator of R&D Cell, that 14 research papers were selected for CCET National research Journal named JSEE, having ISSN-2455-5061 (online) and Scientific Journal Impact factor of 4.282. She said that CCETJSEE is an annual open access online journal that publishes original research papers, review articles and case studies in the field of engineering, science and technology encompassing new research and development for various applications. The keynote speakers Dr S S Mahapatra gave his speech on Rapid Prototyping Technology, Dr. S. R. Sathe on Open Specification for multiprocessing and Dr Namitha Brahme on Synthesis and Luminescence of isotopes. The Valedictory function was organized at CCET auditorium. The Co-convener, Dr Mina Mishra in her valedictory speech gave a brief report of Technologia’s proceedings. After the felicitation of keynote speakers, the certificates were distributed to the participants. The Vote of thanks was proposed by the convener, Dr Sitendra Tamrakar.
